Sustainability

We recognize that Organic Produce Summit has an impact on our local communities and global industry. Through our sustainability program, we are striving to better identify, understand, and proactively address environmental impacts, social sustainability, and sustainable development. Below are just a few ways we are doing this:

Environmental Sustainability

Running an environmentally responsible event means that we are constantly learning, developing and creating more ways to become a "planet-forward" event. Our main focuses are waste diversion, energy/carbon offsets, water, procurement/materials, and travel.

  • Utilize reusable/compostable service ware.
  • Source local and organic vendors as much as possible. 
  • Partner with facilities that partake in environmental sustainability practices. 


2026 Innovations Showcase:
All proceeds from the 2026 Innovations Showcase will be donated to Rancho Cielo Youth Campus. Rancho Cielo Youth Campus invests in all young people facing challenges for success through diploma education, vocational training, counseling and life-skills development in a safe and affirming environment.

Last year we raised over $12,000 and we're aiming for a packed showcase this year as well!

Attendees started their day with tranquility and balance by joining us on the beach for morning yoga before the show began. It was the perfect way to center themselves and prepare for an exciting day ahead. Participants embraced this moment of zen to rejuvenate their minds and bodies, setting a positive tone for the entire event.

Seed to Service Volunteer Event

Brighter Bites is a non-profit with a mission to create communities of health through fresh food. Brighter Bites does this through a three-part formula: produce distribution + nutrition education + a fun food experience. The families that participated in the program received approximately 50 servings of fresh fruits and vegetables along with healthy recipes and tips each week of programming. Volunteers helped pack 1,000 bags of fresh produce for families to take home this week at one of the four sites in Monterey County: Boys & Girls Club, YMCA, Frank Ledesma, First Tee.
